Here's Director Ben Keller's comments on Rubberman:
Rubberman is a great little flick. It's not a serious one, with no special commentaries or anything like that. It is much more of a 'traditional' surf film than anything we have done to date.
That said, it does have an element absent in most of today's 'action porn'. It's agot a little story that goes along with it. It's pretty funny and shot well. So there is a thread, one that we belive most surfers can identify with, that runs throughout the sequences, tying it all together. Good guys, bad guys, action, adventure, the whole schlemiel is in here.
It also has some of the best surfing sequences we have ever shot here at Dubious Honor. Shot in New England and North Carolina, in all kinds of climates with groms, women, a pro or two for good measure. And of course, the usual crew of surf nuts.
Couple this with a pretty eclectic soundtrack (with a penchant for rocking) and you have a damn entertaining 35 minutes. Enjoy the show!
